“We just want to study. We just want to stay dry.”
A Story of Three Sisters and the House That Can’t Hold the Rain
Their names are Ruth, Sarah, and Clarisse. Three young sisters, living together in a crumbling house in East Africa—because the rest of their siblings have already been placed with other families. They’ve stayed behind. Not because they weren’t loved, but because there was nowhere else to go.
They’ve made it work for over a year.
But “making it work” means placing basins across the floor every time it rains, shifting from corner to corner, hoping to find the dry spot before their schoolbooks or clothes are soaked. It means packing their few belongings and moving them from wall to wall, night after night, chasing comfort they never really find.
Ruth is in Senior 2. Sarah and Clarisse are both in Primary 4. They want to study. They want to succeed. But they live in a house that steals their focus and shakes their hope.
“It’s hard to focus on our studies while living in a place like this. We think about it a lot, but we have no solution.”
They received a solar panel recently—a blessing that lets them study after dark. But what they need now is something more basic, more human: a safe and solid home.
They’re not asking for luxury.
They’re asking for dry floors. Solid walls. A roof that holds.
They’re asking for dignity.
Will you be the answer to their prayer?
We are urgently seeking to raise $4,000 to renovate their home before the next heavy rains. With your help, we can give them more than shelter—we can give them stability, focus, and peace.
Your gift will:
- Repair and reinforce walls and roofing
- Prevent flooding and health risks
- Give three young girls a place to thrive
This is what preserving LIFE through servanthood looks like.
Will you stand in the gap for Ruth, Sarah, and Clarisse?
